ganked by geckos

almost!

geckos are too big for the variety of lizards that are common in households. i just couldn’t help using it in the title. the ones at home, crawling everywhere – upside down from the ceilings, hanging on walls or running through the nooks and crannies – are small. uggh! it just makes my hair stand. they are tiny, yucky things. i can stand a roach or a rat. but not these house lizards. disgusting things!

so i came home the other day and opened the front door. two of these great small ones leaped out from the door! they jumped me. my ninja-instincts kicked in immediately and i was able to avoid both of them. whew! that was a close one. one ran away from the door, hugging the wall, while the other came to me, startled as i was, and didn’t know which way to go. it was like running around in circles. finally it ran away from me, deciding to go after its cousin who was now running as far away from me as possible.

i had better remind myself always to give the door a good kick before opening it. this should make the little buggers jump out from where they are hiding – the door. they seem to frequent that boring piece of thing in the house.
